Willow is an independent cavy with a personality that reminds everyone of a cat. Sometimes he’s up for petting, and other times he wants to be on his own and explore. He particularly likes purring and rumblestrutting when being pet on the sides of his face and near his bum. He is considered the Houdini guinea. It’s debatable if he became an escape artist before or after he began to learn tricks and become a trick guinea. Very clever, curious, and adventurous, he’s always able to keep Ali on her toes. He also is litter trained and free ranging.
Friendships: Early on Willow found an unlikely best friend and a companionship with a rescued male rabbit named Lucy. After Lucy passed away, Willow was alone for a while and adjusting. Before long, Ali looked into other older male guineas and set up play dates to try to find a match, but it didn’t happen. With a lot of moving in his future (over three times with Ali), Ali held off.
However, on February 25th, 2017, Willow finally found a new best buddy and brother after a playdate with a rescue guinea.
Birthday: February 6th, 2013
Type: American Short Hair
Favorite Foods: Carrots, romaine lettuce, cucumber, watermelon, and broccoli.
Favorite Hobbies: Snacking on hay and his willow tunnels, doing tricks, following around grandpappy in hopes he will provide a carrot, naps, doing tricks, and rumblestrutting around Ali’s feet before falling asleep nearby as she works. He also is a huge chatterbox during cuddle time and talks a ton with his furry brother.
Dislikes: Being picked up, baths, and all wood that is not willow. He will follow you and sleep next to you or up against you, but picking up is a firm no.
